What is SPOAP?

SPOAP stands for “Spotlighting Progressive Organizations Aiding People.” SPOAP will spotlight people that are willing to exhibit the power of people through their efforts to make their communities better. Their efforts are the living example of “the we campaign”, showing that by working together and applying strong, people-centric values, the power of people will always be invaluable to building, leading, and supporting our citizenry.

In October, I would like to highlight an organization that is dear to me. The gentlemen of Succession
(
http://charlottesuccession.com/)
Since 2004, these gentlemen have been involved in multiple campaigns that have benefited the people of Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas.

The highlight of their previous service year was their 1st annual Succession Golf Tournament. The 2005 Succession - Skyecroft Golf Tournament was a great success.  With the support of members, sponsors, friends and everyone who attended, Succession was able to raise over $20,000 in donations to Levine Children's Hospital.

The 2nd Annual Succession Golf Tournament (presented by West End Capital Partners and hosted by Ballantyne Village) will occur on Monday, October 16th at Ballantyne Resort. It will be followed by an after party and auction at Ballantyne Village that begins at 5.30pm. Please consider participating in this activity as proceeds benefit the Avenir Foundation and the Harvest Center (http://www.theharvestcenter.org). Help Succession help Charlotte as we work for a good cause.

Thanks, Succession, for your hard work and dedication. Keep being part of the “we”.
